Comment
I am a distance learning teacher. I represent 10 area high schools. We are working hard to let people know we offer Russian in the high schools. We are the only language not offered in middle school. I am proud to represent the city of Va. Beach for the Russian program. The numbers above represent 10 city schools plus Kellam.
Kellam
launched a pilot distance learning/interactive TV program for
Russian levels I -4
in fall
2000 via distance learning.
The enrollments
are a composite of several schools, including Kellam, Salem High School,
First Colonial HS, Princess Anne HS, 1 Kempsville HS

Comment
My enrollment last year was over 200 students. This year the numbers went down by about 20, but we still keep 8 sections.
We have 6 foreign languages competing against each other in our school. It is a constant struggle.
