Numbers for level 4 would be higher, but budget cuts have hurt us. We have officially 6 Russian teachers: John Callahan, Isabell Stern, Natalya Ushakova, Olga Dobry, Natalya Levina and Natalya Sokolovskaya. Elena Finkelsteyn teaches a part-time schedule. We have an interesting situation at our school. On levels 2, 3 and 4 we have "native speaker" classes, because the number of native speakers at our school grows each year, and the majority of them jump a grade upon entrance to the school. |

I have many games and project sthat I am willing to share.
The entire
kindergarden in the district takes Russian (approx. 500 children). : I use mostly teacher prepared materials, and have developed a communicative curriculum based on the New York State Regents Standards.
I have developed a program that is communicative, project oriented and student based. Please feel free to contact me for any information. Students are actively involved in many projects and special assignments, for example Russian 2 students have prepared and presented a puppet show using Snow White in Russian. |

I have been teaching Russian at West Babylon District for a number of years. The textbook I am using is called "Russian Face to Face", which, in my opinion, is getting old. I would like to find more authentic materials for teaching Russian to Elementary and Middle school american students of Russian, and use modern technologies (textbook with CDs, Smart Boards, etc.) while teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
I would appreciate greatly if Russian teachers from other school districts share their professional knowledge and experiences. Thank you.
