Comment
We have enjoyed an exchange program since 2001 with our partner school in Antratsit, in Eastern Ukraine. Our students are excited about our next trip to Ukraine in April, 2006. We have had exchanges since the first round in 1988. The program encourages students to stay with Russian through the upper levels, and also motivates many to continue Russian in college.

Comment
Level 1 is 7th grade. Level 2 is 8th grade. To encourage students in 6th grade to sign up for Russian, we take a group of 6 current students from 8th or 9th grade to visit 6th grade classes. They teach a bit of the alaphabet, and some basic words and phrases. The students get excited about it, and are enthusiastic about signing up.
