San Francisco Unified School District is implementing a Russian FLES program at Argonne Elementary school. The program is in its third year. There are 240 FLES K-2 grade students and 8 4-5th grade Heritage speakers in the program right now.

I have all the three levels combined in one class which makes it hard to give them all quality teaching. I am trying though. Face to Face textbook/worlbook and other assessment materials help a lot. Russnet modules program is a great asset in teaching multiple levels in one classroom

The k-8 program is an introduction to Russian, for 6th grade, who take Russian in groups of 20, for a half semester at a time, via songs, stories, conversation and games.K-8: a ten week introductory class, for 6th graders, which uses lots of songs, acting and stories as well as learning the sounds of the Russian alphabet.
High School classes use a similar approach, creating stories to practice structures and vocabulary needed to read, for exampl,Ann Rolbin's First Reader in Russian "Stories from Today's Russia", articles from Newsweek and the BBC online, and favorite traditional and contemporary Russian songs
