San Francisco Unified School District is implementing a Russian FLES program at Argonne Elementary school. The program is in its third year. There are 240 FLES K-2 grade students and 8 4-5th grade Heritage speakers in the program right now.

I have all the three levels combined in one class which makes it hard to give them all quality teaching. I am trying though. Face to Face textbook/worlbook and other assessment materials help a lot. Russnet modules program is a great asset in teaching multiple levels in one classroom |

We learn using comprehensible input methods and I'm working up to the level one's reading and writing responses to K. Placido's Noviy Houdini and level two's studying B. Ray's Bednaya Anya. Level three are reading authentic short stories and news articles.
The K-8 class is a half-semester "taster" class for sixth graders. I include lots of songs, stories, and they learn enough cyrillic to write all their names, favorite animals etc.
