New program!
The textbook is outdated, does not contain any interesting texts
I would like to add that the interest towards the Russian language is definitely growing, and even though the classes are still small, many of my students are much more motivated to study languages now. I also provide lessons in Russian history, from Peter the Great to Gorbachov, and my students always look forward to these classes every week. We also have students from the University of Arizona doing service study in all my classes, and as all of them have visited Russia more than once, they share with my students about their experiences. The U of A Russian and Slavic Studies Department has been monitoring my classes since the very beginning of the program, and the 3 students who graduated last year (they were seniors taking Russian just because they liked it), continue studying Russian very seriously, one of them is taking Russian at the U of A. |
