About the Program . . .

The Public Communication Weekend Graduate Program is designed to meet the growing needs of communication professionals in today's dynamic and highly competitive communication arena.  The program was designed by a professional for professionals.

The program provides a unique blend of theory and practice that help professions build their skills and expertise, along with their careers.  The skills courses focus on the techniques of communicating effectively across a variety of communication media, formats and contexts -- from visual to print, nonprofit to political, interpersonal to international.  The theoretical courses help professionals sharpen their analytical skills, assess management options, and explore new research approaches to solving communication problems.  The specialized courses explore the impact of technology, diversity and social change on the design and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns.

The program's goal is to help professionals develop their own specialized expertise as well as become flexible communication generalists.  Today's communication environment needs professionals who can function effectively in other areas, such as corporation relations, government and political media relations, arts communication and public interest communication.
