We are the same Franklin High that was on SE Woodward; our regular building is under We also have an Immersion class; this is the first year that the immersion program has reached the high school. Zoya Surits teaches this class, and has about 14 students

We have started an exchange program with our Sister City in Khabarovsk. This is
the program's 2nd year.

Comment
There are 12 teachers teaching in K-5 Russian Immersion program following a 90-10% model. There is one teacher, Olga Volnycheva, teaching 6-8 grades Russian LA and Social Studies in Russian

At Portland Public Schools we offer the Russian/English Two-Way Immersion Program at K-5, Middle and we started the Russian Immersion High school class in the Fall 2016. In elementary (grades K-5) school the core curriculum is taught in both Russian and English with the emphasis on achieving fluency in both languages. In middle school (grades 6-8) the cohort of Russian Immersion students are offered Russian Language Arts and Social Studies in Russian.

At Lane Middle school both heritage and non-heritage students in grades 6-8 continue studying Russian Language Arts as well as Social Studies in Russian.
